Why my friends are awesome

Just a couple random moments I wanted to mention…

I popped one of the buttons off of my work pants yesterday. It was just like in those fast food commercials. I guess it might be time to start wearing the belly bands, or even *gasp* maternity clothes, though I was hoping to get through one more month without them.

Nate, one of our awesome friends and coordinator of almost every get together (including the Tailgate Extravaganza), is very excited that we are pregnant. We are the first couple in our group having a baby, so whenever people get within 2-3 feet of me he always (jokingly) yells, “WATCH OUT FOR THE BABY!” He is the one who said asked (jokingly, I hope) if he could come along to our next doctor appointment. Oh, and did I mention that he is rooting for the baby to be a 15-pounder? Yeah, he wants a linebacker. Anyway, here is his latest funny comment to Geoff: “My goal is for her to curse not only you at the birth, but me as well.”

Another friend, Emily, has decided that every time I hang out with her she will have a tiny baby cutout to stick on my belly that shows how big the baby actually is. I thought she was kidding, but then I got a picture of this via Facebook:

Nate and Emily are just examples of how super supportive and fabulous our friends are! We are seriously lucky to have this many good people in our lives. Love you guys!

P.S. I’m obviously the worst bump photo picture taker of all time. I can’t believe it has been FOUR WEEKS since I last took one. My mission this week is to get one taken and posted before the weekend is over.

A Cute Story

Last night our volleyball game wasn’t until 10:00 p.m., and I was so tired that planned to be asleep by then, so I stayed home.

A few minutes after Geoff left to head to the courts, he called me and said he was just driving along thinking about the baby (awww!) and that he forgot to mention something our friend Nate had said to him earlier that day.

To give you a little back story, Geoff has been friends with Nate since high school. They also went to college and grad school together, and now they work at the same company. So they are very close friends. Nate is also on both of our volleyball teams, so he was one of the people to find out we were preggo last week.

So Geoff and Nate apparently went on a run together and were talking about the baby. Geoff mentioned that my next doctor appointment wasn’t until late May, so Nate asked if he could come along to the doctor! He was just joking around of course, but he is super excited about us having the first baby in our group of friends and he “wants to be involved the entire time.” I love it! I have the best friends.
